John begins his second season coaching with Capital City Rowing. John began rowing with his high school in 2002, and rowed there for three years. John then went to Auburn University in 2005 where he continued to row throughout his time there. John held several executive officer positions on Auburn’s team, including vice president and captain. He was also the stroke of multiple varsity boats each season for the 3.5 years he was on the team, including the men’s heavy weight 4, which was the fastest in the SEC his last season with the team. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Auburn University (2008) and is currently working on his master's degree in International Affairs at Florida State University.
